Pickleball Rules- Five Rules You Must Know

If you are new to pickleball there are a couple of things you need to know. These five rules will make you more comfortable and help you play better.

First, the ball must remain within bounds. This is similar to the rules of ping pong and is an important part of pickleball. When you hit a ball out of bounds you lose your service and it is given to the opposite team. This can affect your team's performance and the outcome.

Second, you can't volley inside the "no-volley zone." This is commonly referred to as "the kitchen" and is a lined box that extends 7 feet from the net on each side of the court. The zone is open to you at all times during the game. But you cannot volley when you are in it.

Third, it's not allowed to serve up your head like in tennis. When you serve you need to keep your foot behind the baseline, and aim diagonally opposite yourself.

Before each serve, announce the score. It will make sure that everyone knows the score and prevent any confusion.

Five, the game is over when the teams have scored 11 or 15, depending on their score. It is not like volleyball or tennis where the game ends when one team scores a point.

You will find that the rules are easy to understand once you have stepped onto the court. In fact, you can play full games of pickleball in less than an hour!

The double bounce rule is one of the more unique rules in pickleball. This is a good way to encourage the players to use imagination when they are hitting the ball.

The rule is enforced during the service of points, when the ball is returned to the opposing team on the left by the player who served the point. This is known as a "double-bounce" and the returner must allow the ball to bounce before hitting it back.

This is an important rule, which many people overlook. This rule is very sensible and helps create a fun and fair game for all.

A double bounce makes a good volley, especially for players who want to get the balls in the air fast. This is especially true when a volley is being thrown in the air from farther away from the net.

Next, the server must hit the ball below the waistline and underhand instead of overhead as in tennis. This is an important rule because it will give you the best chance of winning your serve and getting your point.

This is an important rule to know if you are new to the sport. This is the only way you can ensure that your team doesn't give the other team an unfair edge by serving illegally. It's important to practice serving.
