Wiffleball is a miniature form of baseball. It can also be played indoors or out in the open. To throw the ball, players use a pitcher and a bat. Another way to get out is to hit the ball through the "foul line" on ground. For the foul ball to be caught, it must reach the ground above the head. To be legal for play, the ball must pass within a radius of 1/4 inch from the head of the hitter.

David Mullany, a father of a young boy, created the Wiffle Ball after seeing his son playing baseball with a golf ball made from plastic. He is now in the National Toy Hall of Fame.
